MYANMAR

Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, is a Southeast Asian nation spanning the Himalayas in the north bordering China and India, all the way to the tropical regions of the south by Thailand. The patchwork tapestry is an apt metaphor for Myanmar given its incredibly diverse cultures, biodiversity and physical landscapes.

Our flagship Myanmar journey centres around authentic immersion into the world of the domesticated Asian Timber Elephant and a rare glimpse of the Irrawaddy Dolphins. We also recommend book-ending this trip with a Mandalay and/or Bagan stopover for a cultural heritage experience of Myanmar. For those short on time, the cultural immersion itineraries can be done on their own.

Myanmar is on the verge of Westernisation, making a compelling case to curious travellers that the best time to visit is right now. Tribu Collective offers journeys that both educate and inspire visitors about the amazing diversity of Myanmar land, people and wildlife.

PHILIPPINES

The Philippines is a vibrant Southeast Asian country filled with tropical wonders. As the only country in Asia to have been under Spanish colonial rule for over 300 years, the Philippines has a unique history, displayed through its architecture, Catholic religious traditions and language. The Filipino population is an ethnically diverse mix of Malay, Spanish and Chinese people who have harmoniously integrated elements of their customs into the Filipino culture we see today.

Enduring past political turbulence, the Philippines has blossomed into a Southeast Asian economic powerhouse, with a stabilised modern society rich in cultural diversity. Past alliances with the U.S. have heavily influenced the Philippines, leading to an adoption of the English language, American government and educational systems, food and fashion. English-speaking travellers will find great ease in getting around the country, especially in metropolitan areas like Manila. Filipino people are known for their warm-hearted and welcoming nature, which is sure to aid in enlightening travel discoveries of local food and festivities.
